Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Perko collects, why, and what happens to it.
What we collect
- Your email address, used to send your login link, your plan, and (if you opt in) alerts and reminders.
- What you tell us about your spending and goals: monthly spend, spending by category, cards you hold, points balances, travel goals, business names and business spend, and optionally a partner's cards and balances.
- Statement summaries or exports you choose to upload. We parse them to estimate spending by category. Upload only what you are comfortable sharing; a summary is enough.
- Basic technical data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and the links you click, including apply links (so we can attribute referrals and detect abuse).
We do not collect card numbers, account credentials, or credit reports, and we never ask for them.
How we use it
- To compute your card ranking and write your plan.
- To send your login link and, if enabled, alerts and reminders.
- To attribute referrals when you apply for a card through a link on Perko.
- To keep the service safe (rate limits, abuse detection).
Who else sees it
- AI providers. The written narrative in your plan is produced by a large language model. To generate it we send the model your spending summary, goals, cards and the ranking Perko computed. We do not send your email address. Our provider does not use this data to train its models.
- Email delivery (Brevo) receives your email address and the content of emails we send you.
- Hosting (DigitalOcean) stores our database. Backups are encrypted at rest by the host.
- Card issuers and affiliate networks learn that you clicked an apply link. What you enter on their site is governed by their privacy policy, not this one.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
How long we keep it
- Accounts that never verify their email are deleted within about seven days.
- Your plan and profile are kept while your account exists. You can view, download or delete everything from the data rights page linked in your dashboard; deletion is immediate and complete apart from backups, which roll off on their own schedule.
Cookies
We use one session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account at any time from your dashboard or by emailing support@perko.ai. We respond within 30 days. Residents of states with privacy statutes (including California) have the rights those laws provide; we honor them for everyone.
Children
Perko is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the "last updated" date below changes and the dashboard shows a notice.
